More than just a skiing holiday in the village of SCHÖNLEITN
The hotel village SCHÖNLEITN is located in the middle of the Villach ski mountains, on the one hand Dreiländereck, on the other Gerlitzen Alpe. Both ski areas can be easily reached in just 20 to 30 minutes, the ski bus runs several times a day at fixed times and is free of charge for our guests. However, the hotel itself is not located directly on the piste - and that is precisely what makes it so charming. Here you can also enjoy your winter holiday away from the hustle and bustle, e.g. with an offer from our weekly programme or a relaxing day in the hotel's own spa.
All-round carefree with the Finkenstein ski school
Ski holidaymakers are well looked after with us, e.g. with multi-day ski ticket sales at reception, ski kindergarten with all-day supervision and children's ski hill with magic carpet next to the hotel grounds. The Finkenstein/Faaker See ski school also has its office in our hotel and completes our offer with its all-round carefree package for ski holidaymakers. Here you can, for example, book a ski course directly on site or use the ski hire service. All guests receive the free Villach Winter Adventure Card on arrival.
Skiing in the border triangle and on the Gerlitzen
The Dreiländereck is a small ski area on the border with Italy and Slovenia and is particularly popular with families. The Gerlitzen Alpe has more kilometres of pistes, perfectly groomed slopes and cosy huts that invite you to stop for a bite to eat. Both ski areas offer storage facilities for skis or hire, so you can easily commute between the hotel and the piste.
Ski day trips to Slovenia and Italy
We also recommend the nearby ski resorts on the other side of the Austrian border, including Kranjska Gora in Slovenia and Tarvis/Monte Lussarin in Italy. Tip: If you buy a 4-7 day pass for the Dreiländereck ski area, you can ski for 2 days in Italy and/or Slovenia and thus not only get to know another ski area, but also the country and its people. The ski passes are available directly at the hotel reception.

After a long day on the piste, the wellness programme in the village of SCHÖNLEITN is even more soothing. Whether you book one of our suites with a private sauna, take advantage of the extensive spa, massage or beauty treatments on offer in the hotel or visit one of the thermal spas in the Villach and Faak am See region for a change: Between the sauna and indoor pool, you will find a relaxing balance to your skiing holiday in Carinthia.
