"Fuchsfährte" - The fox trail
One of the most popular family hiking trails on Lake Faak, the Fuchsfährte,
starts right on the doorstep of the hotel village SCHÖNLEITN. . Children can
help Fidelius the fox to find Frieda the goose, who has gone missing. If you can
solve all the puzzles in the puzzle book for the hiking trail, you might find
the right trail. Walking time: approx. 60 minutes.
Woroun, barefoot in the dragon forest
In the dragon forest, not far from the hotel village, the kids meet Anna,
Anton and the dragon Woroun. To help them actively organise their walk through
the dragon forest, there is a special story and puzzle book with exciting tasks
for the children. The book is available free of charge at reception in the hotel
village. Walking time: approx. 50 to 90 minutes.
Nature Active Park
Not only a great running circuit through the surrounding forests on Lake
Faak, but also a beautiful walking trail suitable for pushchairs with sporty
stations for kids and parents. Kids can also ride their bikes here. There are
car parks directly on site.
Excursions with children at Lake Faak
The forests around Lake Faak not only offer great running routes, but also
beautiful walking trails suitable for pushchairs or bikes for parents and
children. One of the most beautiful viewpoints of Lake Faak can be found on the
Taborhöhe, which can be reached on foot in around 30 minutes - with a forest
rope park and archery for the whole family.
Family excursion to Lake Ossiach
Continue in the direction of Lake Ossiach, one of the largest lakes in
Carinthia and only approx. 15 minutes by car from the village of SCHÖNLEITN.
Particularly family-friendly excursion destinations are the Gerlitzen Alpe, the
Ossiacher See climbing forest, the Finsterbach waterfalls and the Burgherren
circuit as well as the Affenberg with eagle flight show at the Landskron castle
ruins.
Family excursion destinations in Lower Carinthia
If you want to enjoy an active holiday and take even more experiences home
with you, we recommend the planetarium and the Happ reptile zoo in Klagenfurt.
Right next door in the Europapark there is a great playground with a sandpit and
slackline course. The lakeside promenade on Lake Wörth is in direct view and the
lido invites you to take a dip.
Family excursion destinations in Upper Carinthia
In the upper part of Carinthia, towards Lake Millstatt, Gmünd and the Malta
Valley, you will find the nearest family excursion destinations: the Sagamundo
in Döbriach, the Granatium in Radenthein, the Pankratium in Gmünd and the Donkey
Park in Malta. If you are already in the Malta Valley, you can take the
Hochalmstraße to the Kölbreinsperre dam wall with its ‘Airwalk’ for brave
visitors.
Erlebniscard Villach & Kärnten Card
From May to October you can get the Erlebniscard Villach directly at the reception in the village of SCHÖNLEITN. The programme is published annually and participation is free of charge with a few exceptions. Active holidaymakers also appreciate the Kärnten Card with over 100 excursion destinations, over 60 bonus partners and special offers for children.
