Pet-friendly hotel village SCHÖNLEITN
Pampering two-legged and four-legged guests on their well-deserved vacation and offering them a fantastic stay is something we take very seriously.
That's why furry friends are very welcome at the SCHÖNLEITN hotel village in Carinthia and at our lakeside chalet.
Vacation service for dogs
Our spacious apartments are well equipped for dogs:
- Water and food bowls, dog blanket and dog towel in the entrance area
- Foldable bowl - practical for hikes and excursions
- Free dog waste bags in the village and dispensers on many walking trails
- Dog bar with fresh water and dry food in the village square
- Treats at check-in as well as toys and snacks at the reception
- Fenced-in area for dogs to run around off-leash
- Dog sitting on request with advance reservation
We charge € 20 per animal per day for dog equipment (excluding food). We are also happy to provide cat equipment on request. Dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the village so that all guests - with or without dogs - can feel comfortable.
Hiking, excursions, and swimming with your dog
Numerous walking trails and hiking routes start right outside the apartment.
Our weekly program offers guided hikes and excursions, where dogs are also welcome.
On hot summer days, the nearby Silbersee lake (15 minutes by car) with its own dog beach invites you to take a dip in the cool water. Small streams around the village also provide refreshment along the way.
In winter, all guided snow hikes are dog-friendly – and dogs are also allowed on the cross-country trails in the Villacher Alpenarena during quiet times.
Dogs in the restaurant & in the village
Dogs are welcome in our à la carte restaurant Dorfwirt SCHÖNLEITN – both indoors and outdoors. The buffet area is a dog-free zone. Four-legged friends are not allowed in the wellness area, on the sunbathing lawn, or in the pool – but you will find the most beautiful places to relax together around the village.
Everything for your dog nearby
If you need dog food, supermarkets such as Billa and Spar are only a five-minute drive away. In Villach (10 minutes by car), you will find well-stocked specialty stores such as Fressnapf, PERRO, Futterspaß BARF Shop, Dexters Tierbedarf, and Herz & Pfote.
When you need to see a vet
Several veterinary practices
are just 15 minutes away, including Tierärzteteam Velden, a large
practice that is also open at weekends, as well as
other experienced vets in Villach and Wernberg. If necessary, additional
information and contact details are available at reception at any
time.
